Virtual Public Information Session for Lacey Township

Representatives to Provide an Overview of Upcoming Onshore Construction Work in Lacey Township

Lacey Township, NJ – Representatives from Ocean Wind 1 and its team of local contractors will host a virtual public information session on Saturday, September 30 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. to update Lacey residents on the upcoming onshore construction work for the project. With the receipt of the major federal, state, and local permits, Ocean Wind 1 will begin onshore construction on October 2, interconnecting to the Lanoka substation at the former Oyster Creek nuclear plant site.

Ocean Wind 1 is the first sustainable energy project to be built offshore in New Jersey and was initiated as part of New Jersey’s Energy Master Plan. The project received a Record of Decision in July 2023 and final approval of its Construction and Operation Plan in September 2023 from the Federal Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, as well as related approvals from the NJ Department of Environmental Protection. At 1,100 MW, Ocean Wind 1 will generate enough clean energy to power half a million homes. The project is operating under an Offshore Renewable Energy Certificate issued by the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities.

Questions for this virtual open house are welcomed and Ocean Wind 1 is prepared to provide information ahead of and during work activities. Please visit oceanwindone.com or submit questions by calling 609-450-3047 or emailing info@oceanwind.com.
