Atlantic City's Bungalow Park Neighborhood and Ørsted Celebrate the Importance of Community with Block Party
Atlantic City, NJ – Ørsted, a global clean energy leader and the developer of Ocean Wind 1, New Jersey’s first offshore wind farm, and neighbors in the Bungalow Park community recently joined together to celebrate the community with a block party.
The family-friend event recognized the importance of community collaboration, highlighted the value of being a good neighbor and served as a way to acknowledge the community for their support and cooperation during the construction of Ørsted’s operations and maintenance facility.
“I’m proud to be the first ward councilperson and I’m definitely proud that when Ørsted came to this community, they kept their commitment and are keeping their commitment to community engagement,” said Atlantic City Council President Aaron Randolph.
The block party was open to the public and included an exciting array of activities, entertainment, and treats including food vendors, giveaways, games, live music, face painting and more.
Community members also had the opportunity to visit Ørsted's new, mobile educational center to learn about Ocean Wind 1. Constructed by high school participants in the Atlantic City-based L.I.T. program and in conjunction with JINGOLI, the mobile center is an empty shipping container transformed into educational space with information on the development of offshore wind farms.
